Production Wiring Operators

Electrogear Fareham is growing and we are looking for experienced Production Wiring Operators to join our busy manufacturing team.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with strong experience in cable preparation, crimping, wiring and electrical assembly, who can read engineering drawings and work confidently with minimum supervision.
Responsibilities
- Wiring and assembling electronic systems, harnesses, cable assemblies and control panels.
- Reading and working from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and layout drawings.
- Carrying out cable preparation and a wide range of crimping techniques.
- Soldering components and connectors.
- Building prototype electrical systems and enclosures.
- Red-lining drawings as you build.
- Carrying out continuity, insulation resistance and basic electrical testing.
- Identifying and resolving wiring and assembly issues.
- Working with engineers to troubleshoot technical problems.
Must Have
- 2+ years' experience in wiring, electrical assembly or a similar technical manufacturing environment.
- Highly experienced in cable preparation and crimping.
- Confident reading schematics, wiring diagrams and engineering drawings.
- Skilled in using crimpers, strippers, soldering irons, multimeters and hand tools.
- Good understanding of ESD-safe working practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Able to work independently and hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable team player with good communication skills.
- Able to lift approximately 16–25 kg and work seated or standing for periods of time.
Nice to have
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 or IPC J-STD-001 certification, electronics/electrical qualifications, and experience in R&D, prototyping, aerospace, automotive, robotics or industrial control systems.
